From concentrating optics and solar furnaces to field-deployable PV monitoring and custom fabricated instrumentation, we work at the intersection of applied research and hands-on engineering.
01 — Concentrating Solar
We design and build concentrating solar systems using Fresnel lenses and reflective optics for high-temperature applications — from materials processing to research-grade thermal testing. This work is the technical foundation of the SHINE initiative.
Explore this work →02 — PV Monitoring
Our PV-Scope platform gives educators and researchers a cost-effective, deployable tool for real-time photovoltaic performance monitoring and data logging. Three units are currently in active use at Texas A&M University.
About PV-Scope →03 — Custom Instrumentation
We build complete instruments — microprocessor-based data acquisition, custom 3D printed enclosures, laser cut components, and precision fiber optic mounts. We take a concept from circuit to finished, field-ready hardware.
Our capabilities →Who We Are
Sunstrike Optics is an independent research and engineering company. We work on concentrating solar systems, portable photovoltaic setups, and the instrumentation needed to measure and validate both — at scales that universities, community organizations, and research teams can actually use.
We make small quantities of custom-designed equipment available for purchase, and we're open to research partnerships with educators, institutions, and organizations aligned with what we're building.
About Sunstrike →SHINE Initiative
SHINE is a collaborative initiative, supported by Sunstrike Optics, focused on concentrating solar furnaces for high-temperature processing and fabrication. We're building open research, community involvement, and accessible technology around the enormous potential of concentrated sunlight.
Whether you're a researcher, educator, potential collaborator, or just curious — we'd love to hear from you.
